This is unnecessary and cruel. I am not an animal-rights nut, but I believe that animals, especially mammals, should not be killed unless it is for a valid purpose. People need food, OK, that's why literally billions of cattle and hogs and sheep are done to death every year in slaughterhouses. I understand why. But when there is no good reason to kill, then don't do it. Hunting endangered whales is clearly something that we humans could get along just fine without doing.
